چکیده

The reduction of dynamic systems has a rich history, with many important applications related to stability, control and verification. Reduction of nonlinear systems is typically performed in an “exact” manner – as is the case with mechanical systems with symmetry – which, unfortunately, limits the type of systems to which it can be applied. The goal of this paper is to consider a more general form of reduction, termed approximate reduction, in order to extend the class of systems that can be reduced. Using notions related to incremental stability, we give conditions on when a dynamic system can be projected to a lower dimensional space while providing hard bounds on the induced errors, i.e. when it is behaviourally similar to a dynamic system on a lower dimensional space. These concepts are illustrated on a series of examples. c © 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Approximate Incremental Dynamic Analysis Using Reduction of Ground Motion Records

Incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) requires the analysis of the non-linear response history of a structure for an ensemble of ground motions, each scaled to multiple levels of intensity and selected to cover the entire range of structural response. Recognizing that IDA of practical structures is computationally demanding, an approximate procedure based on the reduction of the number of ground m...

Trajectory tracking of under-actuated nonlinear dynamic robots: Adaptive fuzzy hierarchical terminal sliding-mode control

In recent years, underactuated nonlinear dynamic systems trajectory tracking, such as space robots and manipulators with structural flexibility, has become a major field of interest due to the complexity and high computational load of these systems. Hierarchical sliding mode control has been investigated recently for these systems; however, the instability phenomena will possibly occur, especia...

Approximate Dynamic Analysis of Structures for Earthquake Loading Using FWT

Approximate dynamic analysis of structures is achieved by fast wavelet transform (FWT). The loads are considered as time history earthquake loads. To reduce the computational work, FWT is used by which the number of points in the earthquake record are reduced. For this purpose, the theory of wavelets together with filter banks are used. The low and high pass filters are used for the decompositi...

ADAPTIVE BACKSTEPPING CONTROL OF UNCERTAIN FRACTIONAL ORDER SYSTEMS BY FUZZY APPROXIMATION APPROACH

In this paper, a novel problem of observer-based adaptive fuzzy fractional control for fractional order dynamic systems with commensurate orders is investigated; the control scheme is constructed by using the backstepping and adaptive technique. Dynamic surface control method is used to avoid the problem of “explosion of complexity” which is caused by backstepping design process. Fuzzy logic sy...

A Method to Justify Process Control Systems in Mineral Processing Applications

The impact of installing process control systems can be expected in terms of performance improvements through reduced operating costs.  Since these installations impose considerable capital expenditure, the profitability of the new systems should be economically justified. Controlled variable trend was reconstructed by a combination of simple waves, which provided a means to simulate the ef...
